Based on the scRNAseq and Waterfall/pseudotime analyses, we hypothesize that cNeoblasts are represented in our Group 2 cluster, which give rise to pluripotent Group 1/σNeoblasts. In turn, σNeoblasts give rise to ζ, γ, ν, and Group 4 neoblasts, represented in the middle tier. We hypothesize that these neoblast subclasses give rise to tissue-specific lineages on the third tier, such as epithelium for ζNeoblasts, gut for γNeoblasts, and neurons for νNeoblasts.
