Red dots show regions of synteny with more than 50% gene conservation as identified by DiagHunter. Color bars on the upper and left margins of the dot plot indicate individual chromosomes of A. thaliana and B. rapa, respectively, demonstrating corresponding similarity. Black dots on the chromosomes are centromeres. Color bars on the bottom and right margins of the dot plot show ancestral karyotype genome building blocks mapped on the reduced karyotypes of A. thaliana and B. rapa, respectively. Bars of the same color are putative homologous counterparts.
